Accuracy before volume
NameByStars aims for broad coverage but does not claim to contain every name in existence. The embedded corpus contains more than 10,000 canonical pages, split into a curated linguistic tier and a larger multilingual reference tier. Correctness is more important than manufacturing a larger count: a canonical record must represent documented first-name usage rather than an automatically invented spelling.
Curated records may state a reviewed meaning and etymology. Reference records retain source locale, spelling, gender grouping, script, transliteration, and variants but label meaning and pronunciation as unverified until independently researched. Missing evidence is never replaced with a generated definition.
Keep distinct facts distinct
Meaning, literal root, historical etymology, modern association, native spelling, transliteration, pronunciation, religion, language, and region are stored as separate concepts. A cultural association is not automatically an etymological origin, and a name used by a religious community is not necessarily prescribed by that religion.
Aliases and transliterations normally point to one canonical page so that spelling variants do not become a network of duplicate, thin pages.
Cultural and religious sensitivity
Descriptions avoid claiming that a religion officially endorses astrology or numerology unless that statement can be responsibly supported. Cultural naming filters and optional spiritual calculations are related choices, not interchangeable categories.
Gender usage is described from recorded practice and can vary by region or period. It is not a rule about a person's identity.
Computational content
Calculated numbers and chart factors are generated from documented formulas and user-supplied data. Result pages label the model and important limitations. Personality statements are selected from calculated categories in a stable way; they are not random filler.
No result should make a guaranteed health, wealth, relationship, pregnancy, or future-event claim.
Corrections and updates
Readers can report errors through the Contact page. A useful report identifies the exact page and field, gives the proposed correction, explains language or regional context, and links or cites a source that can be independently reviewed.
A correction may update the canonical record, add an uncertainty note, preserve two legitimate regional interpretations, redirect an alias, or decline a claim that lacks adequate support.
